Mark 14: 24-25
The precious blood of Jesus, how wonderful it is. The birth of a new agreement. The precious blood that was sacrificed on Calvary for all, as many that receive Him. His blood that abolished the old law, that brought forth a new connection with God in heaven. The blood that covered every sin and took away all its power over mankind. The blood that brings about the remission of sins, oh how wonderful it truly is.
As Jesus was preparing for what was to come, he had communion with the disciples, sharing with them the way to remember the blood that would be shed on Calvary at the coming time. In that time Jesus used wine to symbolize his blood, stating that he won't drink again until he communes with those that are saved. Communion is such a sacred and holy event that is not to be taken lightly. We must understand the importance and value in what the loving Father has done for us. He gave up his life so that we could have life everlasting. His body broken and crushed in ways that we can't even imagine. Enduring unspeakable unimaginable pain, enduring the most horrible death that any human could possibly go through, all so that we could have a chance. A chance to be restored, healed and redeemed. So that we can have a right to eternal life!
Oh how marvelous it is to serve a Savior who loves that much! Who cares that much about us that he would take the punishment that is supposed to be yours and mine.
Wow, praise the Lord!!
